Terms of service

A plain-language summary, not the binding text. The operative version is being prepared with counsel and will replace this page before checkout opens.

Draft, pending legal review. This states the position the platform actually implements (ADRs 0007–0017). It has not been reviewed by a lawyer in the United States, the European Union or Türkiye, and it is not binding until it has been. Nothing here is legal advice.

These are moovoy's global terms. They apply wherever you use moovoy. Where you live in a region with rules of its own, a regional addendum adds to them — see section 12 — and where the two differ, the addendum wins for you.

1. What moovoy is

moovoy is a marketplace. We list licensed transport operators, show you their names and their own prices, arrange the booking, and hold the record of what was agreed.

We do not own cars. We do not employ drivers. We do not carry anybody.

When you book, your contract for the journey is with the operator, not with moovoy. Their name is shown to you before you pay, on your confirmation and on your receipt. Your contract with moovoy is this document: an agreement about the use of the platform and the arrangement we make for you.

2. What we do, precisely

We doWe do not
Check that an operator is a licensed business, insured, and that each vehicle's documents are in order — and suspend it automatically when one lapsesCheck individual drivers
Show each operator's own price and the arithmetic behind itSet, mark up, or recommend a price
Pass your booking to the operator you choseAssign a driver or a vehicle — the operator does
Hold your payment until the journey is done, and answer when something movesPerform the journey

We do not vet individual drivers. The operator's licence and insurance cover the people who work for it. This is a real limit on what our checks mean, and it is stated here rather than buried.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract.

A customer account books journeys. A business account acts for one operator and cannot book; if you work for an operator and want to travel, open a customer account with a different email address. Each account has its own address.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. We will never ask you for your password or a card number — not by email and not by telephone.

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. What we keep afterwards, and why, is in the privacy notice.

4. Booking and payment

A price is the operator's own — their rate applied to your journey, with the working shown. Nothing of ours is added to it; the operator pays moovoy a commission out of the fare.

A booking is a request until the operator accepts it. When you request a journey your card is authorised, not charged: the amount is held. The operator has a set time to accept, shown to you before you request. When they accept, the payment is taken. If they decline, or do not answer in time, the hold is released — nothing was taken — and we tell you straight away.

A phone number is required when you book, so the driver can reach you, and your email address must be confirmed first, because that is where the driver's details are sent.

One booking, one operator. Two services from two operators are two bookings and two payments. We do not sell packages.

Times are local to the pickup. Every time on a booking is the pickup city's clock, whatever device you read it on.

Payment is taken on the operator's own payment account through our payment provider. We never see or store your card number. If you ask us to, the payment provider keeps your card so a later payment is one tap; we keep only the provider's reference, and you can remove it at any time.

5. Extras

Extra distance, extra time or extra waiting can arise during a journey. The operator asks for them as a quantity — "30 minutes of waiting", "40 km" — and the price is worked out from the rates your booking was sold at, which are shown on the booking.

Nothing is charged without your approval. You approve or decline each extra yourself. Extras can be requested only while the booking is open; a booking closes a set time after the journey ends, and after that nothing more can be charged.

6. Changing your booking

You may ask the operator for a different pickup time (or, for a hire by the hour, a different length). The new price is worked out on the rates you booked at. If it costs more, the difference is held on your card until the operator accepts; if it costs less, the difference is refunded when they do. If they do not accept in time, your original booking stands, unchanged.

7. Cancelling

Each operator chooses one of three cancellation policies — flexible, moderate or strict — shown to you before you pay and frozen onto your booking as dated deadlines with real amounts. The full wording is in cancellation and refunds.

If the operator cancels a confirmed journey, you are refunded in full.

8. When something goes wrong

Each booking shows who to call and in what order: the driver, the operator, then us. You can also tell us from the booking itself.

If the operator does not deliver the journey you paid for, you get your money back. That is moovoy's own promise, and it is bounded: it covers no vehicle arriving, a vehicle so late the journey was pointless, a vehicle materially different from the one booked, and an operator that cancelled. It does not cover a journey you missed for another reason, a booking made for the wrong date, or consequential losses — those lie against the operator, whose insurance covers them. Tell us within 14 days of the journey.

If the operator sends a different vehicle, you never pay more. A dearer one costs nothing extra; a cheaper one is refunded the difference. A lower class, or one without something the listing promised, is offered to you first: accept and the difference is refunded, decline and the booking is cancelled and refunded in full. Only close to pickup may it go ahead without asking you — refunded, and recorded so you can tell us if it was not acceptable.

While a problem you report is open, the operator's payment for that journey is held.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Reviews and ranking

You may review an operator only after a journey that took place, for 14 days after the booking closes. The operator may answer in public; it cannot remove or edit your review.

We remove a review only when it breaks one of these published rules: abusive or threatening language; personal data such as a phone number or a private person's name; not about the journey; or written by someone with a stake in the operator. We do not remove a review for being negative. A removed review is kept on our record.

An operator's average is shown once it has enough reviews to mean something; until then it is shown as new.

How results are ordered. Within each vehicle class, operators are ordered by a mix of their rating (pulled towards the site's average until they have enough reviews), their price against the cheapest in the class, and how reliably they accept and keep bookings. Nobody pays to be placed. If paid placement is ever offered, it will be labelled "Sponsored". You can always sort by price or rating instead.

10. What operators may record about you

An operator that carried you may keep a short private note and rating about the journey, visible only inside that operator. Operators are asked to record facts only. These notes are personal data we hold; you can ask to see them under the privacy notice.

11. Using the platform properly

Do not use moovoy to break the law, to harass anyone, to scrape or resell our content, to test its security without asking us first, or to impersonate another person or an operator. We may suspend an account that does, and will say why.

12. Law, regions and disputes

These global terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States (to be confirmed when the company's state of incorporation is fixed).

Regional addenda add the rules of the place you live, and where they give you a stronger right, that right applies:

  • European Union and EEA — your mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence, and the courts there.
  • Türkiye — the distance selling agreement and the pre-information form, the Tüketici Hakem Heyeti and the Tüketici Mahkemesi.
  • California — your rights under the CCPA, set out in the privacy notice.

moovoy opens a country only once its addendum has been reviewed by a lawyer qualified there.

13. Changes to these terms

We tell you before a material change takes effect, by email. The version you accepted, and when, is recorded. A change never applies to a booking already made — the terms in force when you requested it are the terms of that booking.

14. Reaching us

moovoy · hello@moovoy.com

Company name, state of incorporation and registered address to be completed before launch.

moovoy operates a marketplace. When you book, the contract for the journey is between you and the operator you chose; moovoy is not a party to it. We introduce the two of you, take the payment on the operator's account, and are paid a commission by them for doing so.

What we are answerable for is our own part: that the operator shown to you is the one you are booking, that the price displayed is the price they set, that the vetting described on this site is the vetting we actually perform, and that a service you paid for and did not receive is refunded to you.

What we are not answerable for is the performance of the journey itself - its conduct, its timing, and anything that happens during it - which sits with the operator carrying you, as does the insurance covering it. Nothing here removes rights you hold under the law of your own country, and where the two disagree, the law wins.
